Greenhouse Aquaponics made Easy To Build

Building greenhouse aquaponics is such good alternatives to help grow more plants.  Greenhouse aquaponics has already been used by a lot of people even in their own houses.  Greenhouse aquaponics came from the word “greenhouse” which refers to a building where plants are grown while “aquaponics” is a word that combines the aquaculture andhydroponics. Aquaculture refers to aquatic animals that are grown in any storage.  Examples of these animals are fish and prawns.  Hydroponics relates to growing plants in water.  These two terms are dependent with one another.  In greenhouse aquaponics, it has both growing plants and fish working symbiotically to sustain the needs of one another.  There are a lot of houses that are already building greenhouse aquaponics.  Also researchers and farmers are using greenhouse aquaponics commercially for food production.  It helps them produce lots of plants and aquatic animals by building greenhouse aquaponics.
A greenhouse aquaponics at home can be set up in just a small size.  First thing to do is to choose an aquaponic system design.  Decide and focus on the purpose and choose a system design that will meet your needs and goals.  If the primary goal is to produce and maintain a large number of fish in the tank, the best aquaponic system that can be used is the constant flow aquaponic system wherein there will be a constant flow of water, but take note of the plants that will filter the water and look for signs of tension for the plants due to filtering process.

Choosing the right kind of fish for Greenhouse Aquaponics

The next step in making greenhouse aquaponics is choosing the right kind of fish for the tank.  There are a lot of fish that can be used for greenhouse aquaponics such as prawns, tilapia, and carp because they grow quite fast.  Putting local fish in greenhouse aquaponics is an advantage because there will be no more need to buy costly ones.  Then, choose the type of plant to be grown in the greenhouse aquaponics and take note if the purpose is for commercial market or own food production.  After all of these things are being set up, what to do next is careful maintenance.  It requires right water temperature for both plants and animals.  The pH level must be at around 6.5 – 7.0 to avoid ammonia.

A greenhouse aquaponics involves a symbiotic relationship wherein all the components involved are going to work together and are dependent with each other.  Fishes provide the nutrients needed by the plants while the plants are the ones that are filtering the water for the fish.  With these, greenhouse aquaponics lessen the need for chemical substances for growing these plants and animals, and also water filtration is already done automatically by the plants. Greenhouse aquaponics is just easy to build and also profit-oriented if will be used commercially.
